Windows 10 upgrade tips

This is how I do it, which might not be the best way. Yet it works for me πŸ™‚

Check the hard drive / system health.
Hitting F12 as a dell system boots to access the system diagnostics utility – this will check the disk and the entire system. Some computer manufactures tools don’t do a disk diagnostic. It’s still a good thing to do.But I would run a diag on any system before spending much time on it. You can google how to run a system diag on your system if its not a Dell. If your system doesnt have disk diag – follow the next paragraph. If you have a Dell skip to β€œBackup – Create a full image for restoration” below.

Most hard drive manufacturers provide free tools for checking hard drive health. To find hard drive make hold down the windows key and tap “r” on the keyboard. Then type “devmgmt.msc” (Device Manager) and tap enter. Open the “Disk drives”, in this instance note the letters “WDC”.  Google “WDC Disk Tool” to provide the Manufacturer’s name. So in this case I googled “WDC” (No quotes) and found this drive tool:

If disk is good proceed, if the disk is bad but the system is less than 4 yrs old – buy a new hard drive or you really love the computer, then create an image of the operating system using Veeam to reinstall your operating system on the new hard drive. Backup – Create a full image for restoration

There are many tools that can back a computer and create an image for restoring the operating system. One needs this image so if anything goes wrong with a computer, the operating can be restored to the point it was at on the day the image was created.

After you have created a Veeam account, download the WIndows free backup client currently located here:

https://www.veeam.com/windows-backup-free-download.html

How to create an image:

https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agentforwindows/userguide/image_create.html?ver=30

For the scope of this article I am not going to write the entire process. Since this is well documented on the internet already.

But the steps are: Install Veeam, create a veeam iso (cdrom image) – burn a boot cd, select an external drive to create the image on and create it. Then boot to the boot cdrom (Google the last sentence with your systems manufactures name to figure out how to do this). Install the previously backed up image to your hard drive. Google “Restore veeam image windows” for the restoration process.

Windows 10 upgrade

A quote from ZDNET “If you have a PC running a “genuine” copy of Windows 7/8/8.1 (Windows 7 Home, Pro, or Ultimate edition, or Windows 8.x Home or Business, properly licensed and activated), you can follow the same steps I did to upgrade it to Windows 10.” Follow the link above using the Windows Download tool linked below. This link might change but the tool looks this:

Follow the instructions from the ZDnet article to upgrade Windows 10.

Ford Tractor – 4000 – Is this Marvel-Schebler the right carb for this motor? And please help identify the rest of the parts. Thanks in advance for any help

Howdy,

I need a rebuilt carb for my Ford Tractor – and help in identifying the trans and rear hydraulic system – since the casting numbers dont match what the tractor has.

Please let me know, does which carb is supposed to be on this tractor:

Is it the Marvel Shebler TSX813 or the TSX580 or?

The studs on the mounting flange appear to be 2 and 11/16’s center to center.

Since there are mismatched parts on this tractor, I want to make sure I get the right one. It currently has a Marvel-Schebler.

Now here is the dilemma I am facing:

According to the number’s:
Engine: C0NN6015J Gas Motor
Tractor: 40303 – 167200

I should have a 2000 to 4000 series tractor made in 1963. According to this page: http://www.oldfordtractors.com/idhistory.htm

First number (1 digit)
4**** – 172 ci gas, LP-gas or 172 ci diesel engine
Second number (1 digit)
*0*** – Industrial models produced prior to 1963
**30 * – Utility-type tractor w/non-adjustable front axle (light industrial)
Last number (1 digit)
*0**3 – Four-speed w/hydraulics and PTO

But it has a 5 speed transmission, pto drive with hydraulics, and someone mounted what looks like an 800 series hood on it.

I used the Marvel Schebler TSX 813 Carb rebuild kits without any luck. And want to buy a rebuilt carb that is the right one for this tractor. Besides, I think some of the parts are missing inside this carb, or it isnt a TSX 813 – since some things arent in the carb that are in the instructions I havent been able to find.

It has 1400 24TG Tires rear tires and 16″ front 245/75 16r tires and they seem to fit right if that might be yet another clue.

Below are more images of the Engine, Trans near starter, left side rear case, left axel, left hydraulic lift arm, and a shot of under the seat – is this tractor a mongrel? Or what year of parts is it actually made of?

Amazon Echo dot

So, I broke down and bought an Amazon Echo dot.

I love it!

It’s like having a personal assistant that I don’t have to pay.

It has a small speaker built in, but you can plug it into any sound system you can may have, or connect to a Bluetooth speaker using the Alexa app on your phone.

Having Amazon prime is almost a must have but you can get by with just a regular Amazon account.
